STRAND (Student Research at Notre Dame) provides a central web-based location for researchers to post and students to apply for research projects at set times throughout the year using a clear and equitable platform.

This site is based on Duke University's Muser program. The STRAND pages were built by Jay Beaton Consulting.

Once users have logged in, the STRAND team can be contacted by clicking Contact at the base of any page on the site.

The People Behind the Project

Dan Gezelter

Dan Gezelter is the Senior Associate Dean for Education and Undergraduate Programs in the College of Science and a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Jeff Thibert

Dr. Thibert is the Director of the Flatley Center for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement (CUSE).

John Slaughter

John Slaughter is a Senior IT Specialist in Engineering & Science Computing and a Term Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Xuemin (Sheryl) Lu

Professor Lu is an Associate Professor of the Practice in Biological Sciences and the Undergraduate Research Director for the College of Science.
